You know people are making a great income online, month after month, year after year. So why not you? You know it's possible and you've probably tried the affiliate stuff, maybe created your own ebook, or sold stuff on an auction site. But your income is probably a slow trickle, if at all. But you persist, because if others are doing it, so can you, right?
So what don't you know? What do you need to do, to turn your income tap from a slow erratic trickle to a constant gush of income.
After all, your time has a value attached to it, and may even be better spent with a loved one watching TV. Life's not all about money but it sure makes life easier.
Online marketing is a skill set that needs to be learned and then constantly improved. You can not expect to buy a few ebooks, spend a few months implementing a few strategies and expect to create a full time income. It is just not going to happen.
Look at the people that have created great incomes online and you will find there has been a lot of blood, sweat and tears along the way. You see it's all about persistence and gravitating towards your strengths. But it takes time to build the list of potential customers, to get the sales letter right, to get the product right. And then each part has to be tried and tested, then modified and tried and tested again, improving the process along the way until you find that sweet spot. And sometimes you don't find the sweet spot and you need to move to another niche and start again... just don't give up!
I receive feedback and questions from customers that make me realise that I'm missing stuff in sales letters or faq pages which I then correct and make the process better. But this all takes time, so it is important to persist because one day that income tap will magically go from a trickle to a gush.
But while you are slowly persisting, here are 10 surefire ways to further enhance that income:
1. Offer to write exclusive articles for high traffic websites in exchange for a link back to your site.
2. Create a giving online image. Donate a part of your profits to charity and advertise this on your site. People love this.
3. Always improve your customer service on a regular basis. Request feedback and questions from customers and potential customers as this feedback is very valuable in your improvement process.
4. Ask your customers what products they would like to see offered in the future. Get your customers to tell you what they want.
5. Monitor your web hosting constantly as a site that is down means no income for you. If you get an e-mail from someone saying they can't access your site you need to respond very quickly.
6. Your visitors will not stay if their experience is not an enjoyable one. Easy navigation, great content, fast loading graphics, search options are some of the more critical areas to get right. Think of your own surfing habits, which sites do you go back to and why?
7. Keep changing or adding content to your site. Not only will the search engines love your site but the users need a reason to return. Free stuff works well as long as it's relevant and has a perceived value.
8. Add a directory to your web site so visitors can submit their web site and this will encourage them to revisit.
9. Create a list of daily, weekly, monthly and future marketing and advertising plans. This will prompt you to do the little steps that result in income.
10. Only trade links with web sites that are relative and offer visitors valuable content. They should be sites that enhance your site with the relationship.
It is very possible for anyone to win at this online game, but Persistence is the secret.
